Comments:
We decided fairly
late to try to camp Labor Day. Well, we surprised to be able to get a
reservation at Tuckahoe with less than a weeks notice.
I guess the call
for rain scared a lot of the Labor Day campers away. It did rain Friday
night, then a couple of times Saturday. Sunday was beautiful, cool with
a clear sky.
The campground
was about 1/3 full, mostly tents. I gave out issues of Pop Up Times to
some of the campers.
Handicapped Availability:
None noted.
All sites are gravel/dirt and are not level leading to the road. The bath
house is in the middle of the campground with uneven dirt paths leading up to
it from all but 1 side. On this side it is the access road for service
vehicles, but would probably suffice for a wheelchair. Sites 4, 6 &
7 are the closest to this road.
