This was a group campout for the Mid-Atlantic Pop-Up Times group.  After our great trip to Rocky Gap, I was unsure how this weekend would be.

With a lot of hard work by "Louise" we  had 14 sites in the "C" White Oak camping area reserved together.  A few of us arrived on Thursday, but the majority arrived Friday afternoon and into the night.

The  camping area  was wooded, with most sites being well shaded.  A small stream ran along one side of the camping area and provided nice background sounds.  Here is a view from the bath house out to the sites:

I was amazed at how clean the campground was, even the bath house.  The floor, walls sinks, showers and toilets were sparkling!!  I could not even find a single spider in the men's room.  Here is the bath house:

The park offers many activities including swimming on a white sand beach, canoeing, fishing , and miles of hiking trails.  Here is the view of the lake from the top of one of the trails:

Saturday night started with a pot luck dinner, which was great!!

The highlight of the deserts was a "Pop-Up" cake. It looks like a Coleman to me.

Saturday ended with a group camp fire which was fantastic.

The weekend was marred by the sadness the group felt for the terrorist attack on the World Trade Center and Pentagon on 9/11/2001.  Sunday started with a prayer service to remember those who were lost, and pray for those engaged in the rescue efforts.

Handicapped Availability:
One  camping site in campground "C" was designated handicapped.  This was a pull through site, right next to the bath house.  Even with the handicapped designation, it had a gravel base and no paved access to the bath house.  From the park web site, these are the listed handicapped facilities:
