This was a quick weekend trip to the national forest for a little R&R.

I drove up early and was able to get a site that we have been looking at under a full canopy of trees.  Set well back from the road it is a wonderful site.

Backing into the site through the trees was a chore as they all began to look alike!  I finally came up with the idea of placing lynx levelers at the base of the trees I should be backing between as a guide.  It worked great!

The Friday night forecast was scattered showers and around 2 am I began to hear the rain falling on the canvas.  I expected it a little muddy Saturday morning, but everything was dry.  Seem the rain I heard was falling pine needles.  Everything was covered in a blanket of them.  As it turned out, no rain all weekend.

The days were cool and the nights  COLD.  Monday morning I went outside and found ice hanging from the outside shower.

The batteries didn't seem to last as long as i thought they should.  I checked the voltage Sunday afternoon and it was below 50%.  I charged them using the F-150 and jumper cables, bringing them up to around 80%.  When we got home I discovered the connector between the original Group 24 battery and the added group 27 battery was disconnected.  It is possible that  it was disconnected all weekend sand that was why the power went so quick.  Lesson learned, check all connectors when you set up.

We are often asked what we do while camping.  Most of the time it is just relaxing:

Handicapped Availability:

None.  This area is for dispersed camping in the forest.  Holes, roots, rocks and other objects are the norm.
